With an aim to offer authentic, vegan food in Bangalore, The Thai Vegan Kitchen was conceptualised by Nandu Asrani, a committed vegan who has been trained under two vegan chefs in Bangkok, Thailand.

His mantra was simple – to bring the heart of Thai cuisine to the table, reimagined through a vegan lens. Joining him on this culinary expedition are Kunal Asrani and Karan Asrani as co-founders.

What started in 2021 as a small cloud kitchen in the heart of Frazer town soon turned into a quaint, cosy dine-in restaurant that can house 50 patrons at a time.

We’re opening another 40-seater outlet in Indiranagar in April 2026.

Our core philosophy is simple – to serve food that is fresh, authentic, nourishing, kind and full of flavour.

Every item on our extensive menu is made with the finest and freshest of ingredients, without the use of preservatives or colour.

From rich curries to fragrant stir-fries, everything is made from scratch while honouring traditional Thai culinary techniques.

At TVK, we believe in offering our patrons a unique dining experience. It is specially designed to help you slow down and feel at ease. With natural materials and a laid-back atmosphere, we’ve created a sanctuary where good food and good energy come together.

Our founders are deeply committed to sustainability, and thus we ensure our ingredients are thoughtfully sourced and our packaging too is eco-friendly and biodegradable.

In 2024, we were awarded the Thai SELECT, a mark of certification awarded by the Ministry of Commerce, The Royal Thai Government to guarantee the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products and Thai restaurants in Thailand and overseas. It was presented to us by the Thai Trade Centre, Mumbai.

Looking ahead, The Thai Vegan Kitchen aims to expand its presence with new outlets in India and around the world.

Our Core Team

Nandu Asrani

The Thai Vegan Kitchen is the brainchild of Nandu Asrani, a committed vegan and a firm believer of the phrase “veganism is magic”. He embarked on his culinary journey in Bangkok after running a long stint in the advertising and film industry. He has also authored several books. 

Interacting with the locals in Thailand and savouring the food on multiple trips made him realise his love and passion towards Thai cuisine. He wanted to bring a concept to our city that offered a unique food experience whilst being compassionate towards the planet.

Nandu is trained under two vegan chefs in Bangkok – Pathitta W from Jimmy’s Kitchen and May Kaidee from Thai Vegan Restaurant and Cooking School, Bangkok. 

 

Kunal Asrani

Kunal heads the catering division, where his deep-rooted love for food comes alive through constant experimentation with new dishes and enticing flavour combinations. With a natural aptitude for culinary innovation, he is passionately involved in shaping not just the taste, but also the look and feel of every new dish that finds its way onto the menu at The Thai Vegan Kitchen.

Beyond the kitchen, Kunal is also the creative partner at Studio 9, a digital marketing and multimedia agency based in Bangalore, bringing together strategy, creativity, and storytelling across mediums.

An avid traveller at heart, Thailand remains one of his favourite go-to destinations for food, shopping, and much-needed getaways. He draws endless inspiration from the country’s vibrant culinary culture, finding joy in everything from a humble bowl of rice and broth to a lip-smacking plate of Pad Thai from a street-side vendor. For Kunal, every dish tells a story and that passion continues to shape everything he creates.

Karan Asrani

With 20 years of experience in branding, digital, design, video, and events, Karan Asrani lives at the intersection of ideas and execution. 

A passionate traveller and self-confessed foodie, he’s usually found exploring new places—or what’s on the plate. At Thai Vegan Kitchen, he doubles up as the food critic, taste-tester, and idea generator, helping shape flavours, stories, and experiences.
